True Success is serving the Lord

Success.

When you see this word what do you feel? What do you imagine? What does this word mean to you? 

I know I should give a dictionary definition to the word success but I want to give you a new perspective to pray upon with the word success. 

                                      

When you chose to live your life for the Lord you become successful.

No, I do not mean that all things will go your way or that things will align the way you want them to but instead, your life becomes and moves in the way the Lord wants. This can sound scary and a bit much at first but this is the exact place we as believers should want to be. In our modern society, it is easy to assume that success is found in money, fame, or power. There are things that this world will say that we need to satisfy, the Lord tells us that His ways are much better than our own ways that. He makes it known in scriptures that we are called to not be of the world; 

They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.  Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them, I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified. 

John 17:16-19

Living your life for the will of the Lord is the place where you will find the purpose that you seek.

The plans and reflections of the heart belong to man, But the [wise] answer of the tongue is from the Lord. All the ways of a man are clean and innocent in his own eyes [and he may see nothing wrong with his actions], But the Lord weighs and examines the motives and intents [of the heart and knows the truth]. Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance]. 9A man’s mind plans his way [as he journeys through life], But the Lord directs his steps and establishes them.
