The Pride of Perfecting Myself
The pride that arises from perfecting oneself comes from overcoming past obstacles without acknowledgment or help from the Holy Spirit. This type of pride tends to void the humility and self-awareness, recognizing that perfection is an ideal and attainable reality through surrendering to the Holy Spirit. Embracing imperfection and learning to lean on Christ in our failures are crucial aspects of the journey. In 2 Corinthians 12:9-10: "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
By embracing our weaknesses and relying on God's strength, we can find resilience, courage, and inner fortitude to navigate life's challenges. Allowing God's strength to be made perfect in our weakness also fosters a sense of humility and dependence on something greater than ourselves. It encourages a shift in perspective, seeing challenges not as obstacles to be overcome solely through our own efforts but as opportunities for spiritual growth and transformation. It's an invitation to surrender, trust, and discover the profound strength that comes from aligning our will with that of our Father in Heaven.
